Served or Server

Genesis 39:5 5 From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.  (NIV)

Joseph’s relationship with Potiphar is an example of our relationship with God but in reverse.  Joseph e entrusted with all his master had.  Joseph started out in complete surrender to Potiphar and his wishes.  Complete surrender is hard for us.  Most of us treat God as our helper rather than our Master.  We pray and ask God to help with this and that.  What we should be doing is asking God what He wants to do through us.  The more we learn to listen and do God’s bidding; the more God will entrust us to allow Him to work through us.  Let us learn to be a server rather than to serve.  Basically it is like the parable of the talents.  The summary would be the more we allow God to flow through us, the more God will flow through us.
