Trigger Points

Hebrews 12:1 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,  (NIV)

It is important for us to know our trigger points.  What triggers lead us away from staying attached to the vine (Jesus).  What triggers us to put off our time of Bible study and meditation?  What triggers cause us to explode in anger?  I’ve found that when I sit in front of the television without something in my hands, I’ll put food in my hands.  Empty hands are a trigger point that gets me away from my food plan.  We need to learn to identify our trigger points so we can throw them off.  Jesus said we can ask anything and He will give it to us.  Let’s ask His help in identifying our trigger points.  When we find we have drifted away from staying in the written word, the Holy Bible, let’s ask Him to help us find why we drifted away.  The same is true for anything that has caused us to be less attached to our vine (Jesus).  It takes perseverance to follow through and throw off everything that hinders us from a strong attachment to our vine but there is nothing more worthwhile.
