Truth on Display

2 Corinthians 4:1-6   Since God has so generously let us in on what He is doing, we’re not about to throw up our hands and walk off the job just because we run into occasional hard times.  We refuse to wear masks and play games.  We don’t maneuver and manipulate behind the scenes.  And we don’t twist God’s Word to suit ourselves.  Rather we keep everything we do and say out in the open the whole truth on display, so that those who want to an see and judge for themselves in the presence of God. (The Message Version)

Please reread the above verses.  So many main-line denominations are twisting the scriptures to say what they want them to say.  It seems the goal is now to appeal to the desires of the current culture even when it means changing definitions of words and changing what God’s written word, the Holy Bible, says.  We see government officials twisting words to suit themselves.  It is up to us, followers of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to speak truth.  But in speaking truth we must do it in love, not in judgment.  We are in the Advent season of the Church Calendar.  This is a time of preparation for the celebrating of the physical coming of God’s Word, Jesus Christ, as a flesh and blood human creation, to show us the love of God, the Father.  Let us determine to do at least one thing each day to show His love through us to some stranger in whatever way the Holy Spirit leads us.  Let us demonstrate Christians aren’t judgmental or hateful but are people who speak God’s truth in love.
