Be Still

Psalms 46:10 10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”  (NIV)

We are busy, busy, busy.  Average life span is decreasing.  Tempers are rising due to exhaustion.  We even are overwhelmed with too much work in the name of God.  There are times we are to sit still.  We need to stop continuing what we’re doing and take time to really sit still and refocus our attention on the Lord.  We need to take time to be patient with ourselves in quieting all the mis-mass thoughts flooding our minds so we can really hear His quiet voice.  We should never consider ourselves too busy to stop and really know God and listen to Him.  We claim we have deadlines that must be met.  We forget our purpose.  Our purpose is to know God intimately.  We can’t do that without regular times of sitting quietly before Him and being still.  Let us be still and know that He is God.  During this Advent time of preparation let’s be sure we make time to be still before God each and every day.
