Walk in Him

Colossians 2:6 6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:  (KJV)

Walk in Christ Jesus.  The word walk is a verb, a word of action.  When we walk, we can either move forward or move backward.  We can’t stay in one place and actually walk.  To be in Christ means to be identified as one in Christ.  We are one in Christ through the Holy Spirit as long as we have accepted Him into our hearts, minds and lives as the One true Son of God made flesh for our benefits.  So, how do we walk in Christ?  We move forward in our relationship of intimacy with Him.  There is never a time when we are to stop walking in Him.  Because of so many distractions in this world that try to divert our attention and even try to get us to walk backwards we must have the discipline of daily Bible study, meditation and 2-way conversations with God.  A dear friend, when she was 102, said to me, “A day without learning something new about my Lord and Savior is a day wasted.”  That has remained in the forefront of my mind ever since. That is what started me in writing a different devotion each and every day for over 10 years now.  If what I learn and share can help even 1 person, it is worth sharing.  I pray at least one of the several thousand devotions God has given me to write may have helped you draw closer to our Father.
