We Choose

Romans 6:16 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?  (NIV)

We have a choice as to whether we will offer ourselves to the culture, be politically correct, or offer ourselves to God.  Every word we say, every act we do is a choice.  We are accountable for what we choose.  God has given us freedom of choice.  One choice leads to separation from God and one choice leads to righteousness through Jesus Christ.  No one can make us choose one way over another.  We can’t say, like Flip Wilson used to say, “The devil made me do it.”  Satan can’t make us.  He can only encourage us.  God has give us a sword to cut through the temptations satan, our culture or anything else brings our way.  The sword is the written word of God, the Holy Bible.  Let us choose to make ourselves very familiar with the words in the Holy Bible.  Let us keep the sword of the Spirit sharp and ready to use at a moment’s notice – at anytime we have a choice to make.
