No More Guilt

Psalms 32:5 5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess
my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.  (NIV)

Jesus went to the cross so our sin can be forgiven.  There is something we must do to receive that forgiveness.  We must confess our transgressions to the Lord.  When we do this, He forgives us and we can put guilt away.  Continuing to feel guilty over a sin that has been confessed and forgiven by God is saying we don’t believe God is true to His word.  Continuing to confess the same sin (unless we keep doing the same sin) over and over is also a sign of disbelief.  When we feel guilty over a past sin we must be sure we have confessed it, accepted God’s forgiveness and forgive ourselves.  When guilt starts to reenter our minds let’s put it out.  Satan does his best to keep guilt alive in us as he wants us to think God isn’t true to His word.  When we feel like it’s a real battle, we must get into the written word of God, the Holy Bible, and read verses about God’s forgiveness.  Memorize some of them so we stay armed against false guilt.  I call the guilt false because once God forgives the sin it is gone with no reason for guilt.  Remember, God is always faithful and can never lie.
