Matthew 25:40 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (NIV)

When we don’t see prayers answered there are a couple reasons.  The one we will look at today is summarized by the word lack.  God uses our mouths, hands and feet in answering prayers.  Sad to say, sometimes the person God wants to use to answer a certain prayer doesn’t listen.  There is a lack of hearing which makes a lack of the instrument (person) God wants to use to answer the prayer.  Someone who is starving and praying for food waits for the person God would use to give that person food.  Instead of us praying so often saying, God I need, God I want, (God knows our needs and wants and has promised to fill them) let us do more asking, God use me.  Let’s not sit back and wait for some grand and glorious thing.  God might just want us to put an arm around someone, give a smile, tell them God loves them.  We tend to look for the big and showy things and we let what seems like little things to us slip by.  Let us be diligent in our listening, going and doing.  Let it not be us that keeps a prayer from being answered in a timely way.  God will always find someone else to be His instrument but it is us who lose out on a blessing when we don’t respond.
