It Only Takes One

John 4:7 7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?”  (NIV)

Not only was she a Samaritan (looked down upon by the Israelites), she was also alone yet Jesus took the time, as tired and hungry as He was, to speak with her and teach her about worship.  We are so number oriented.  If what we deem to be enough people don’t show up for a Bible class or a prayer meeting or any other event we are prone to cancel it.  We consider it not worth our time unless the number of people we desire are there.  Churches are deemed successful if their numbers are large.  We don’t stop to think the impact we can have on just one person can ripple out to an impact on many.  From tis one woman at the well, many in an entire town became followers of Jesus.  In actuality, she was the first missionary.  She had no training but she met Jesus and shared her experience with others.  We must share our experiences with our Lord and Savior, Jesus with those we meet.  We can share at work or in a grocery store or anywhere.  We are not limited to sharing only in a church building.  There have been many times I have stopped to talk and them pray with a stranger in a big box store.  Let’s not wait for what we consider the right time or the right place or the right people.  Let us be open to step out and speak up sharing God’s love and the wonderful news of Jesus Christ anytime, any place with any one.  Actually change all the “any” words to “every.”
