Finding with Conditions

Deuteronomy 4:29 29 But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.  (NIV)

This is a promise with conditions.  We must seek God with all our heart.  That means we will do anything and go to any effort regardless of time involved to seek Him because we desire to find Him more than anything or anyone else.  Also we must seek Him with all our soul.  That means we don’t wait for others to show Him to us but we seek Him with our entire mind.  We seek Him with our mind by not only reading scripture, the Holy Bible, but also intense study and even memorizing of the words we read along with taking time to listen to the Holy Spirit for interpretation and meaning applicable to us in our time and space.  If we are seeking God with our entire soul we will find the Holy Bible is not only our favorite book to read but also our first “go-to” book when needing answers to life’s trials and decisions.  When we meet these conditions, God promises we will find Him.  We will find Him through the written word, through the Holy Spirit within us, through His glory shine out through others and through His creation.  We find ourselves talking to Him and telling Him how beautiful His creation is when we walk through the woods or gardens.  When we find Him, we will speak to and listen to Him throughout all our day.  Let us really seek the Lord our God with all our hearts and all our souls (minds).
