The Called Call

John 1:41 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ).  (NIV)

John 1:45 45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”  (NIV)

Jesus, Himself, called Andrew to follow Him.  The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother and have him join him in following Jesus.  The same happened when Jesus called Phillip.  Phillip went to find Nathaniel.  It took me awhile to realize the importance of these 2 examples.  Those who are called by Jesus are to call others to follow Jesus.  Many do this when they first come to follow Jesus.  The problem is as time goes by some loose their excitement and enthusiasm and not only don’t call others but even don’t share any of the Good News with others.  How sad to keep the best and most precious treasure we an ever have hidden in our own hearts without sharing it with others.  We shouldn’t let a day go by that we don’t share the Good News with someone.  We are even to share it with those who have already heard and even with those who already believe and follow.  We must ask ourselves each night ad to who we shared Jesus with that day.  Oh that we all would develop not only the excitement but also the discipline of doing so.
