Because of Love

Hebrews 8:12 12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”  (NIV)

We have a problem with guilt.  We expect ourselves to do better than we do.  When we sin, we get upset with ourselves and because of that we tend not to forgive ourselves.  This keeps us from accepting God’s forgiveness.  We have a hard time really believing He will forgive us every time we confess, we have sinned.  We tend to confess over and over.  God says after He forgives us, He no longer remembers the sin.  When He looks at us, the Father sees the blood and the righteousness of His Son, Jesus.  This makes it easy for Him to forgive us.  His love is that strong.  We, as parents, forgive our children time after time because we love them.  How much more God loves us and forgives us.  Let us be quick to confess our sins, accept God’s forgiveness, forgive ourselves for not being perfect, and ask the Holy Spirit to help us not repeat that sin again.
