Seeking Knowledge

2 Timothy 3:7 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.  (NIV)

We are a people who seek knowledge.  We want to be “in the know.”  A very common phrase today is “Go google it.”  We have knowledge at our fingertips.  Our questions we must answer is what knowledge, the Holy Bible.  We must also answer, “Do we know the Holy Bible.?”  How much do we know of what is in the Bible?  Modern versions are being produced now that exclude some parts of the Bible and even change the meaning of some of the words.  Do we know the Bible well enough to discern when words have been omitted or changed?  God’s Word is a lamp to our feet telling what direction we should walk and a light to our path showing us truth.  It is important to cross reference what we read in the scriptures to be sure we are reading correctly.  It is also very important to pray before we read and ask the Holy Spirit to give us the interpretation for the application we are to follow.  Let us be sure the first and primary knowledge we seek first and most of all comes from God.  Knowledge of the things of the world only come after God’s knowledge.
