Deception

2 Corinthians 11:14 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. (NIV)

I seldom write about Satan otherwise known as the devil because I don’t like given him attention  However, it is very important for all of us to recognize this deceiver.  Satan is very deceptive.  He makes little suggestions to us that seem harmless.  He might say, go ahead and lie because it’s just a little lie and you don’t want to hurt someone’s feelings by speaking the truth.  However, on little lie leads to more lies which lead to bigger lies and before long, we are trapped in lies.  It’s the same with stealing.  We might take a pen from work.  It’s just a pen.  No one will miss it.  Before long we will be taking more and more things away from our employer.  How do we learn to recognize when it’s Satan attempting to deceive us?  This is why it is so important that we have the word of God, the words in the Holy Bible, deeply planted in our minds and able to recall them.  Every deception by Satan has a real truth in the scriptures.  Satan has an uncanny way of change just one word as he quotes scripture to us.  In Genesis 3 he questioned Eve by asking if God said they weren’t to eat from any tree in the garden.  Satan likes to put questions in our mind as to what God actually said.  Satan dangles the good in front of us.  God desires the best for us.  Let us continue to eat and digest the word of God so we can resist the schemes of the devil.
