Growing Daily

John 12:35 35 Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going.  (NIV)

Walking was the first mode of transportation.  At one time, it was the only mode of transportation.  When we walk, we normally move forward.  Walking backward is hard and dangerous.  Walking in the Bible quite often refers to how we are in our relationship with God.  We either move forward in our relationship or we move backward and further away in our relationship.  We walk every day. There is no way to be stagnant.  We are a living being and to be living means growth and movement.  Our Spirits need to grow.  The only way our spirits can grow is by walking toward God – growing our relationship closer and closer to Him.  We do this through the study of God’s instruction book, the Holy Bible and through one on one teaching with the greatest teacher ever, the Holy Spirit.  If we are the same person today as we were yesterday we have lost a day of growth.  There is a chorus we sing: “From glory to glory He’s change me…His likeness and Image I ever will be…”  Each and every night let us contemplate on something new we’ve learned about God and what He’s changed in us that day.
