Vine and Branches

John 15:1-2 1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruit (NIV)

I was sitting in the campground looking at the beautiful trees around me.  I noticed one that had unusual flowers all through it.  I’ve never seen a tree with that kind of flower so I went over for a closer inspection.  The flowers were from a beautiful vine that had wrapped itself around the trunk and all of the branches.  Jesus is the vine and we are the branches.  When we allow Him to wrap Himself around us with His Holy Spirit we become beautiful and will bear fruit.  I doubt that tree was aware of the flowers but it probably was aware of the vine wrapping tightly around It’s trunk.  We may not be aware of the fruit of the Holy Spirit within us (hopefully we have grown into it being natural to allow the fruit in us to work) but we should be aware of Jesus, the vine, tightly entwining us with His Holy Spirit.
