Deaf and Blind

Isaiah 42:18-20 8 “Hear, you deaf; look, you blind, and see!19 Who is blind but my servant,
and deaf like the messenger I send?  Who is blind like the one in covenant with me, blind like the servant of the Lord?20 You have seen many things, but you pay no attention; your ears are open, but you do not listen.”

God isn’t talking about physical sight or physical hearing.  He’s talking about spiritual blindness and spiritual hearing.  We have a natural, sinful tendency not to see or hear what we don’t want to see or hear.  This is very true as we read God’s word, the Holy Bible.  We don’t want to acknowledge the words that disagree with our fleshly desires.  One example is the movement to delete all verses that call homosexuality a sin.  Taking those verses out of the Bible will not change God’s judgement.  We must pray before we read the scriptures.  We must pray we will see the words spiritually and hear what God is saying to us through those words.  There are times we can read the scripture and not be able to say what we just read because our mind is elsewhere.  I’ve heard many read scriptures yet miss reading some of the words in it.  One example is John 3:16. Some read, “God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes Him should not parish but have everlasting life.”  I hope you immediately realized what word is missing.  If not, please open your own Bible and carefully read that verse.  Let us not be spiritually blind or dear.  Let us always ask the Holy Spirit to help us see and hear with the spirit.

Romans 8:25 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. (BIV)

I just got a new tablet.  I couldn’t wait to get it up and running.  Suddenly, no internet.  I called my server.  A line is down.  Here I am with a new device and I can’t use it.  Patience with people I have.  Patience with electronic devices I don’t.  But maybe it’s God’s will for me to develop patience in all things.  This is hard for most of us.  We live a fast-paced life.  We have a hard time slowing down.  We have an even harder time getting quiet before our God.  I usually have music playing but my music is off the internet.  It is very quiet.  I stop to pray and ask God what to do.  I know how to worship and pray without music.  I don’t need internet to talk to God because the Holy Spirit is my Server.  I have a direct link and the line is never down.  There is only one thing we can be totally sure of in this world.  God is with us.  God hears us.  God is always ready to have a conversation with us.  Thank You Holy Spirit for being the best internet server ever and always.  I only need to remember to schedule this on the blog once the earthly internet is up.
