The Little Things

Romans 13:12  The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

How many times have you re-committed to follow God’s word in all things and found you did not follow through?  For Christians, it is not the big things that trip us up.  It is the little things that prove to separate us from God.  We pray and study His Word for the big decisions in our lives but tend to make the little ones on our own.  We might just tell what we call a “little white lie,” only to find that one little like leads to a string of lies to support the first lie.  We might just say it wont hurt to miss church one week – we just don’t have enough time to do everything we want.  Soon that one-week of missing becomes a habit.  Let us commit to ask God about all things and allow His Holy Spirit to work in and through us.

A Mother’s Love

1Co 13:7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Happy Mother’s Day.  It is such a privilege to be a mother.  It still amazes me that God would trust me enough with one of His precious creations.  Now I am a grandmother to eight beautiful grandchildren.  But a mother’s love never stops for her own.  We silently stand by our adult children and inwardly weep as they walk their trials and tribulations.  We constantly pray for them to be in the center of God’s will and purpose for their lives on this earth.  We try hard to keep our mouths shut until asked for advice then don’t give it without a lot of prayer.  Our role in our children’s lives may change as they grow but a mother’s love never changes.  The same is true with God’s love.  No matter what we do or how disobedient we are or what we do with Jesus, God’s love for us remains true.  Thank You God for loving me and teaching me to love.
