Be Opened

Mk 7:34-35 He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means, “Be opened!”).  At this, the man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.

The man could not hear or speak.  Jesus signaled him out and opened his ears and loosened his tongue.  What a marvelous surprised for that man.  Jesus comes to us today through His Holy Spirit and signals us out.  He wants to open our ears and loosen our tongues so we can hear Him and share His word with those around us.  The man responded to Jesus by coming out of the crowd with Him even though he didn’t know what Jesus was about to do.  That is a sign of trust.  The question is do we trust Jesus to allow His Holy Spirit to pull us out by ourselves and let Him open our ears and loosen our tongue?  He pulls us out into our prayer and meditation time and in our Bible study time.  Let’s respond to His gentle pull and spend time with Him so He can open our ears and loosen our tongues to speak is praises to all around us.
