Psalms 5:3 Lord, in the morning you will hear me; in the morning I will present my case to you and then wait expectantly for an answer.

How much time passes after we wake up before God hears from us?  Do we start our day thanking Him for the new day?  Do we present what we see as facing us this new day to Him?  Do we wait and seek His wisdom and His direction for the day He has given us?  If we could only learn to make this a habit we would find our days much more joyful and fruitful.  We are not here on this earth for our own self-seeking desires.  We are here to allow God to work through us to increase His family.  When we are walking with God we find our desires are His desires because He places His desires in us through His Holy Spirit.  God loves us and does not force us to speak to Him, to listen to Him or to seek His wisdom and direction.  He patiently waits for us to desire Him.  It is in Him and through Him that all our desires are met.  Let us learn to seek Him first and to present Him with our “to-do” list for deletions and additions.  Let’s ask God to be our “day planner.”

blessedDeuteronomy 4:39 Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other. (The Holy Bible, New International Version).

We all have choices to make every day. Today I had to choose if I would walk, what route I would walk and how long I would walk. Before that choice I made a choice before I got up from bed. I had to choose Who would own the day—Who would direct my schedule. It would be easy to just “go with the flow” with the various demands on my time. But this day doesn’t belong to me. This day belongs to God. It is He Who made the day. He has only loaned the day to me. I can choose to take the day as my own and do what I want with it or I can choose to be a willing vessel for God to use His day through me in the way that is best for His glory and His purpose. Each of us must choose. The question is whose day do you choose this to be? . When we choose self a lot of it is wasted and cannot be recovered. When we choose God we are blessed.

While It Is Day

John 9:4 As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.

We must do the work of Him who sent us.  Who is it that sends us to work?  Jesus sends us.  He sends us to work for the preparation of bringing His Kingdom on earth.  What kind of work is this?  It is the kind of work that brings glory to God.  One of the best inspirational books I’ve read is “Practicing the Presence” by Brother Lawrence.  It is a free e-book now and much worth the time of downloading and reading.  It tells how even a simple, menial task can be done to the glory of God.  Our question is how are we using the time God gives us?  Is all we do glorifying Him or is it being wasted?  Night is coming.  Let us not only be ready ourselves but help others be ready.
