Psalms 100:2. Worship the Lord with joy!  Enter his presence with joyful singing!

Tomorrow is a special day.  Some think it is special because it’s Super Bowl Day.  Actually it’s special because it’s Sunday, the Lord’s day, the day we come together to worship and praise our God.  There is a lot of excitement about the Super Bowl.  People spend lots of money, time, and effort to be at the big game.  They cheer openly during the game.  When the game is over the entire thing gradually fades away. Our question is what about our gathering together to give God praises and worship?  How much money, time and effort do we spend. We are in the game of life.  As with the bowl game there will be winners and losers.  The only winners will be on God”s team and the worship and praise will never end. We start that in our churches on Sunday.  Which teams are worth the most time, effort, money and cheering – the Super Bowl teams or God’s team?  Enjoy the Super Bowl but keep God in first place in our time, effort, money and praises,

Psalms 119:7 I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws. (The Holy Bible, New International Version)

Many think life is a game and treat it according. Life is not a game. Life on this earth is a training ground for eternal life in heaven in the very real Presence of God the Creator. Heaven is a real place and we will have things to do in heaven. One of the most precious things we will be able to do is praise our God. We learn how to praise Him here in this life on earth. We practice in our own times of devotions and meditations and we practice when we gather together with some of His other children in collective worship services. We also train in various ministries and responsibilities according to the talents and gifts God gives us. We will be joyfully busy in heaven. But to get there we need a ticket. Our ticket is the blood of God’s only Son, Jesus Christ. When we accept Him as our Savior and the director of our life we are washed in His blood and given His Holy Spirit, our ticket to heaven. Our question is do we have our ticket and are we actively training for our time in heaven or are we treating life here as a game? Let us choose to be diligent in our training.
