Philippians 4:11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in any circumstance.

We didn’t expect that accident or that trip to the emergency room.  What do we do when life throws in an unexpected surprise?  It all depends on Wno we see as the director of our life.  Paul, who wrote the letter to the  Philippians knew that all things touching his life must first pass through God’s hands.  That doesn’t mean God orchestrated the surprise event but that He allowed it in the life of one of His children.  Our question is what is the atttude we choose when we find these surprises in our lives?  Attitude is a choice.  We can choose to be angry at the perceived inconvenience, we can choose to be a complaomer to all who will listen or we can choose, like Paul, to be content and look for God’s hand in each and every surprise that comes our way.  We may not be able to choose what surprises cross our path but we can choose our attitude, our responce to these surprise events God allows our way for our good and His glory and purpose.
