John 20:14. Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus.

Mary knew Jesus well. She knew His voice. Yet she didn’t recognize Him. In her mind she thought she would never hear His voice again. Her mind was closed to the possibility. We also close our mind to possibilities. We look at situations and think it is up to us to decide what action is needed. Our mind isn’t,t open to hearing our God speak to us through His Holy Spirit within us. Thoughts enter but we ignore them because we don’t expect Him to be speaking to us. We might listen when we pray but prayer time is not the only time God speaks. By praying unceasingly it means for us to always be listening. Our question is do we want to hear or, like a distracted and tired mother of young are we tuning His voice out? Are we afraid if we hear it will be something we don’t like, an answer we don’t want? All He ever says to us is out of His perfect love for us. Let us choose to always keep our ears and mind tuned to hear His voice.

Revelation 13:18. This calls for wisdom:  Let the one who has insight calculate the beasts number, for it is mans number, and his number is 666.

As we prepare and watch for the return of Jesus for His Bride, the church of. Elite era, we are told to use insight and wisdom.  We are to be on guard for the anti-Christ.  Jesus warned many would come and claim to be Him (Jesus).  This is why it is so important for us to know His voice.  I will not write about pre, mid or post tribulation for the believers.  I am not concerned about the future because I know my future is in the hands of God.  Whatever er He allows me to face He will give me the knowledge and wisdom to do so in His love and grace.  Our question is have we practiced listening enough to know His voice?  When one we love talks we know them by their voice.  Let us be sure we know His.

John 1:29 On the next day John a saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Revelation 12:11 But a they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.

A lamb is described as a dumb animal.  It doesn’t know safety or where to go without a guide.  Lambs must have shepherds to care for them and shepherds will use trained dogs to help them keep the lambs together.  At the same time lambs represent meekness.  They have no sence of pride.  They are content with grazing and drinking from calm waters.  They are content with just being.  Jesus was represented as a lamb.  He was a lamb in His willingness to follow the Father’s lead.  He said He could only do what the Father did and say what the Father says.  He was also a lamb in His humility.  Though He was the very nature of God and a very real part of God, He humbled Himself to a baby of a poor family and walked in submission to them as He grew into a man.  He was also a lamb in that He became the blood sacrifice for our sins – each and every one of us for all time.  It is through His blood we receive forgiveness of our sins, our separation from God and are adopted as His chidren – more than just His creation.  As His children we are to follow the example of Jesus and be as lambs.  We have a lot of spots and blemishes Jesus never had but they are covered in His blood.  Our question is, as lambs, do we know the voice of our Master?  Are we true to the nature of a lamb and follow the call of His voice?  When we don’t we get lost and He will come find us but we could get pretty hurt in the process.  Let’s choose to keep our ears open for our Shepherd’s voice and stay in the safety of His watchful eyes and bountiful love

John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me (The Holy Bible, New International Version)

I have a couple blind friends. When we are in a crowd and I walk up and say, “Hi” then greet me by name. They know the sound of my voice. I have other friends who call me on the phone and don’t identify who they are. The expect me to know their voice. Sometimes I am distracted when I answer the phone and I don’t recognize my friend’s voice. God speaks to us in many ways. The Bible describes some of the different ways God’s speaks to us. Learning to hear the way God’s voice sounds within you takes a lot of practice. You start hearing by reading and studying the written Word of God, the Bible. As you grow in that knowledge and faith you learn to hear through circumstances, through input from others, and finally through that still, small voice of His Spirit within you. At first you need times of quiet and meditation to hear that voice, but, as you practice and mature in your faith you learn to always be listening for that voice, regardless of what is occurring around you. It is important, once you learn to hear His voice, that you follow through in what He says or you will find your hearing will become dim. Our question is do we really want to hear His voice? Sometimes we don’t want to stop what we are doing to listen. Sometimes we are just too distracted. Practice listening and your joy will be even more abundant.

Luke 3:6 And all mankind will see God’s salvation.’

Blessed Christmas.  Jesus, God’s Son and God’s salvation has come for all mankind to see.  Do you see Him?  He came for our sins and will return for us.  We prepared to celebrate His first coming.  We are to prepare for His return.  We are to tell all mankind of His coming so all mankind will see God’s salvation in the person of Jesus, God’s only Son.  When we come to Jesus we are adopted into God’s family.  Before that we are only God’s creations.  Now we are His adopted children and share God’s blessings with Jesus.  God has so much love to give He wants all His creations to come into His family.  Advent is over for this year but the time of preparation continues.  We must be the voices crying in the wilderness of this earth.  We must be the lamp stands from which God’s light stands.  Enjoy the love of God and go forth and share it.

Isaiah 40:3 A voice of one calling: “In the desert prepare the way for the LORD make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.

This world is a wilderness.  People are running wild.  They are full of fear and anger.  The normal tendency is to look out for “me” – number one.  Everyone else can look out for themselves.  We are in a desert without living water.  Those of us who have found the Source of the Living Water – Jesus Christ, God’s Son – are called to be a voice calling to all who will listen.  We have the ministry of making on this earth a highway for our God.  Only a few travel country roads.  Highways are built for many.  We are to be sure all who are within hearing distance of us hear about Jesus.  He has come on this earth and He is coming back.  Are we ready?  How about our families, neighbors, friends and strangers we meet?  Are we letting our voices be heard?  Let us speak out.
