2 Timothy 1:7. For God did not give us a Spirit a of fear but of power and love and self-control.

I get a lot of comments but, as I wrote in the “About me” page, I do not post any comments for that would divert attention from the devotions.  The comments are very much appreciated for the encourage me to keep writing and posting.  Every day I fight fear: I may not have anything to write, I may not hear God correctly, I may write what I hear in a way others will misunderstand.  How do I get passed those fears?  I remind myself God is bigger than any mistake I can ever make.  I pray over each devotion that each reader will receive only what God wants for that day.  God spoke through a mule and He can speak through each and every one of us.  Be it open our mouths or take pen or keyboard in hand, God wills us to pass His words to us on to others.  Our question is are we willing to trust Him to speak through us?  Are we willing to acknowledge He will use us in His way and will override our mistakes?  I once had a choir director who said, “if you don’t sing loud enough to hear you won’t know if you’re making a mistakes.”  Let us be willing to speak or write in the faith of God.

Creative Process

Genesis 2:1-3 The heavens and the earth were completed with everything that was in them.  By the seventh day God finished the work that he had been doing, and he ceased on the seventh day all the work that he had been doing.  God blessed the seventh day and made it holy because on it he ceased all the work that he had been doing in creation.

Someone asked me how I was able to write a devotion every day for over 4 years.  Quite some time ago I was sitting on our porch swing.  I had a vision of pieces of songs, writings, and many other things floating around in the air.  I asked God what it meant and He (in the quiet inner voice through His Holy Spirit} said He had already finished creating all that was to be created.  It is out there to be seen, heard, recognized and given to others.  Our question is are we looking?  Are we listening?  Are we receptive to all God has to offer us to all He wants to give us?  It seems we are so smug about our own assumed abilities to create, write, come up with good ideas and inventions that we fail to take the time to listen to God or to look at what He has to show us.  God has made each one of us to be a part of His creative process.  He has finished His work and is waiting for us to take and use His work for His glory and the benefit of mankind.  You may not be called to write but you are called to use part of God’s creation to bring glory to Him and to share Him with others.  To you it may seem to be only a small thing but to someone else it could be the one thing that opens their ears, eyes and heart to our Lord.  Even a smile at someone in need of a smile is part of God’s creation process.  Let’s learn to listen and look at all God puts around us and allow Him to flow through us for His glory and His purposes. When I don’t listen, when I don’t look, I have nothing within my own being to write and share with others. Life si full of crossings where we must stop, look and listen.
